I try to do weekly hitting articles at BaseballProspectus and I know Doug Thorburn has his killer pitching articles there regularly too. I could talk, write, wax poetic, about hitting all day long so if there is sufficient interest here you just might be on to something.

Agreed. Doug is incredible with his breakdowns of pitchers. I've watched games with him in person and it's crazy to see how much information he can absorb in just a few pitches.

Stride- not so much. Gomez needed the stride but not all power guys do. Every hitter drives a metaphorical Ferrari and the stride can be thought as the key that gets it going. All keys are different. In Gomez's case the bigger stride meant he had to start earlier which is what I believe helped tap into his power. So
