My parents have a 2003 Passat Wagon with the V6 4Motion... it’s a tank. With the V6, it can barely get out of its own way. (And like any fat, overweight AWD car, it eats tires.) IIRC the W8 Passat is *not* that rare... 1 of 9 could mean “1 in 9 of every Passat sold in 2003 was a W8.”
