Badass cancerAIDS. Like I've got nothing to lose. And amazing showertimes.
I said this last year :P
Someone on Twitter said something like "when a woman shaves her head you know it's gonna be good. A woman doesn't shave her head for whack shit" and this last year that has definitely been true!
You forgot the "When your Pokemon is fully evolved" caption!
Add Iron Giant to that list. Another very mature gem that failed on a theatrical release.
There's this perception in the west that animation is strictly for children, which is why it's seen as oh-so-novel when an R rated animation comes out. Like "Isn't that wild? It's a cartoon, but it's adult! So crazy!" and also…
They probably wanted to avoid a clash with Fast and Furious, which would have obliterated them.
Please do not make me have to think about another Suicide Squad. It'll probably have a 2 year long marketing campaign next time too, in which case I'll be looking for a way to move to a log cabin in the Finnish alps.
Fun fact: They made the gazelle's ass way bigger at Shakira's request
And she's kind of like Furiosa take monkey form too, albeit slightly more maternal from the get-go.
Very stern and extremely skilled as a warrior, has to get a group of less skilled people from one place to another, is badass but does really care a whole lot deep down. She even has that line when she turns around and…
Your Movie Sucks highlighted a lot of issues with Zootopia I hadn't previously considered and, while I do still enjoy it, makes me actively root against it for the Oscar.

Gonna try and get some of my artist friends to pump out some fanart. The marketing for this movie has not been good enough. It's going to need people to push friends to see it.
It's the same with Studio Ghibli in the US. It's so far from what the general movie-going public have been trained to expect from their animated features that people just don't care when something different comes along.
It looks too beautiful, it seems too profound. There's no fart jokes, or poop jokes, or slapstick…
I've had my rants about this weekend elsewhere, but seeing original masterpieces like Kubo and the Two Strings (or even loving made remakes like Pete's Dragon) struggling at the box office where that burning cesspit of a movie Suicide Squad still sits at number 1 on week 3 is a fucking travesty.
Honestly I've really…
I don't think there's a cg overlay. I've watched so many behind the scenes videos on YT about their movies now, I think they genuinely have gotten so good and fluid with their animation it looks like it must have had cgi help. But even the ocean and the particle effects were hand-done, the cg stitched into the scene.…
Kubo is easily better than both, but the Academy is infuriatingly flippant and disinterested in the animated category. I really hope Laika have it this time, because they so deserve it, but the habit of the Academy just voting for whatever Disney or Pixar movie they remember seeing is frustrating.
I saw Kubo and the Two Strings with my little sister and it was a goddamn delight. Definitely one of my favorite movies this year, and I know that's probably not a high bar to clear, but Kubo caught some atmosphere jumping it. Gorgeous, gorgeous movie with a level of maturity in its storytelling that you just don't…
"You don't speak for all women, but here, let me explain how all women think to you myself".
Come back and see me when you have to sit through a whole movie of Hemsworth wang.
Well if we can't get rid of the female objectification maybe we can even the playing field in the opposite direction! Maybe for the Mad Max prequel.
