I was a little harsh, and i did end up naming the Dodge Avenger as much worse.
I only experienced the 200 through rentals, and found it much worse than the Hyundai equivalent.
I fully agree that this is a horrible car. But i like to believe that its existence was absolutely necessary. Much like minimalist art - a canvas just painted white. Why the fuck is that art? What effort is there? what function does it serve? The answer is none, but it reminds you how real art should be appreciated.
YES! The Avenger is so bad. I nominated the Chrysler 200 based on bad rental experiences but you have rekindled some rental memories i had tried to black out. Fark. If you have passengers in the back who are prone to motion sickness this car is really bad. I don’t know what it is avenging but it must be a bitter and…
I had a 1996 Cavalier and i agree it is horrible. At least to look at and to drive. But it never died. Had ~300k miles on the clock. Timing belt changed once.
Certainly worth cross-shopping against it’s competitors.
isn’t that just a different image of the same car?
I have awoken the Budget Rental fan club. Sorry.
I thought the interior was pretty poor compared to the equivalent Hyundai rental
Sounds about right. I didn’t think of that one.
The turbo diesel version of this model is the one you want. Plenty available down in LatAm.
That actually the pod from successor model, but yes such a cool thing. My dad had the later model and as a kid i’d love watching the incline and seeing where we’d get to.
Fox body stang all the way. There are better cars but not for ~$5k.
Along with a Ranger with Ecoboost V6.
This should’ve gone into that “what features should all cars have” article: more engine options.
