Things like this are the reason that I can no longer have a few drinks while looking at eBay.

I got 9/10 and although I freely admit at least 3 of those right answers were luck, I feel like the one I missed (Dogde colt wagon), I would have gotten correct if it had the year included. I googled it afterward and found this is the one it was referring to:

There's no legit way to get crank HP from a chassis dyno.

I saw this up close and in person on the Ogeechee river many years ago. Rarely has fascination followed so closely behind startle-tation.

Actually, these were state troopers hiding over a blind crest on a road that didn't have the speed limit posted until after the speed trap.

I would love to see an article on how Colorado works. I've lived here for a few years now and just got my first ticket in many years while avoiding tolls roads in Orlando (the one road to the airport that had no toll had a sketchy speed trap that was clearly targeting out-of-state plates). I can't quite figure out if

Yep

How long can that thing possibly stay cool, being air-cooled, and have no prop?

I've averaged 10% per year raise, so it's not horrible now. What company do you work for and where are they hiring?

I have to agree. I've got a degree in Aero and in school I thought that I'd have a starting salary of around $60k, but that certainly isn't the case when you have to find employment outside of the Aerospace industry. I know quite a few people with Aero degrees that are working as mechanical engineers, project managers

They just need to return to praying to the pagan gods of dirt, fire & turbo noises.

I agree. I am thinking hard about making the mk7 GTi my first new car purchase and I check the website semi-regularly to see if they have put up any info on 2 door models and performance pack options.

In 2008 in Rio de Janeiro, I saw a drunk man get pushed out of a bus door. The bus was stopped, but we were on an overpass and he tumbled over the edge on to the pavement below. I doubt he made it. It just happened to be near my stop, so I had to walk past the scene to get home. This was on the ride home from spending

Fisker is probably a decent place to work right now. The new owners are buying some expensive equipment and seem like they aren't afraid of investing in quality, which is a good sign.

I took a bus on a few hour bus ride in Brazil from Rio to Paraty and it was very nice. 10/10 would public transport on.

The way to really maximize your miles is to have a chassis dyno/rolling road and leave it plugged in while racking up miles. You could almost get 10M miles @130 mph for 8 years.

I went through a very similar process in CO, with an out-of -state car. The DMV did a great job of working with me and helped me discover the ultimate secret of the DMV, which is if you don't get the answer you are looking for, just take a number again and talk to a different agent. Someone will be willing to work

Torque at the wheels includes any gear reductions, so that number isn't spectacularly high at all, or in any way comparable to engine torque. Looking at torque at the wheels is like looking at tractive force, but even less useful.

I would say that working on newer cars is often way easier than older cars. I cannot express how much I wish I could plug in a diagnostic tool like VCDS, that I used on my 2004 Audi & 2006 VW GTi, into my '86 Subaru GL-10 or even my '84 Rabbit GTi.

If only the landscaping truck had been going faster, then the axe may have hit more gently.
