The EDF games are like Ishiro Honda fever dreams adapted into video game form and they are endlessly entertaining.

I got hooked on SK with SHINOVI VERSUS on the Vita and was surprised that under that shapely veneer was a fun cast of characters and a great combat system to boot. I played a bit of EV today on the PS4, which looks great by the way, and had a blast. SK is pure bouncy fun with a lot of asskicking. Nothing more, nothing…

The EDF games (Sandlot’s entries not that failed American spinoff) are pure blissful bug blasting joy. As a fan of Japanese sci-fi/kaiju movies and tokusatsu shows like Ultraman it’s amazing that a game encapsulates all of that into one entertaining package with great gameplay.
