Incredibly, I came out of reading this thinking every single person involved in this story sucks.

As another commenter have said, AC isn’t (or at least shouldn’t, but you do what makes you happy) about min/maxing.

I really liked this event. It gave me a reason to actually go in an walk around my museum, which I rarely do because of grinding.

This me expressing befuddlement that someone would suggest that International Museum Day is “a significant annual event.” Have most people even *heard* of IMD? Consider me especially befuddled that someone would appear to think that IMD is some kind of huge, significant event but doesn’t, apparently, know what Easter

Agreed. And I think this post misses the point of the event entirely.

If that was your goal I think there should have been less emphasis on how this event can’t be farmed for money and why that’s bad. You explain how the event works, explain why you can’t make any money from it, then have one paragraph comparing it to other events and showing why they were more interesting.

Cheers to this! This game is more a low-key agrarian therapy simulator than an actual game. Trying to apply metrics of what’s “best” and what’s “worthwhile” feels out of place - every single person’s version of “playing” this game is going to be subjective.  And that’s ok!  I’ll be honest, I didn’t know that

It really saddens me that everything in this game is being analyzed through some sort of min/maxing lens. It’s not just Kotaku. Unless a seasonal event or new bug type brings with it a new get rich scheme, it gets bashed as a waste of time. In an entire game about slowing down and appreciating the changes that come

It’s not super exciting but I thought it was kind of cute (and not really intrusive) and I was happy to get the plaques. Why can’t it just be a cute little thing that gives you cute little rewards?

The coronavirus.

Queue all of the commentariat attorneys to tell us all about how IP law works....

COVID-19 .......  lol

You know what, I really wish good things for this game. For the many, MANY flaws Anthem had, it was certainly a gorgeous, evocative experience in many ways, and the core gameplay of flying and spamming abilities was really, really strong. It’s all the scaffolding that basically needs a complete overhaul.

The only DK game I love is the one on Gameboy.

Fun fact: almost all of Rygar’s music is produced with only two of the NES’s five sound channels. The two pulse wave channels do it all - one for bass, one for melody. The sole exception is the ending theme, which uses the noise channel for the little percussion taps.

Legally speaking, liquidating a house is way easier, less time consuming, and often less expensive than liquidating a marriage. Speaking as a former divorce attorney.

#1: Have you considered wearing an eyepatch?

you truly are dedicated to forcing yourself to be disappointed

Or, y’know, they had to drop it like that due to what’s going on right now

There will absolutely be games that look like this.  There are games now that are 80% of this already.
