Art lives long beyond the artist. In many cases, it’s an objectively good thing that the artists’ opinions no longer matter.

I don’t necessarily agree with the person you’re debating, but “you’re welcome to have an opinion about their opinion, but it’s their decision to make based on their viewpoint” is generic nothing that can be used to shut down literally any criticism, to the point that it’s almost comical and feels a bit like trolling.

I agree it’s their choice, but a choice can absolutely be wrong, wrongheaded, or ill-informed.

Maybe arbitrary is the wrong word. “Wrongheaded” or ill-informed might be better.

Preventing one’s work from being released on home video strikes as an arbitrary and petty decision. 

I’m sick of publishers releasing cinematics even if I’m engine, and claiming it’s gameplay footage. Unless I see what clearly looks like player controlled gameplay, preferably with the UI shown, then don’t bother showing it or call it a cinematic trailer.

I love that AC is doing this. I personally prefer to play as male characters, but my wife prefers female characters. That is the major thing we liked about Odyssey, and i’m stoked for valhalla.
