The real question is, are strippers mandatory at the after party? Because that is essentially the function the women were filling, even if they didn’t actually strip.
And yes, the after party is mandatory. That’s what networking is about.

While I do agree with you. Why can someone dress up as someone else in every single way; dying your hair, clothing, eye coloured contacts, haircut, stuffing your clothes to match their weight, duplicate tattoos and scars, etc. But as soon as you touch skin colour everyone freaks out. If you’re not being rude about it…
In this picture, she’s at home. She can and probably does put her hair up tight for practice and competitions. Up and tight doesn’t mean mechanically or chemically straightened.
I don’t have children, but it is actually in my top ten nightmares that I would have a daughter, and she would want to be a cheerleader or beauty pageant contestant.
the only thing worse then working IT for a living is doing free IT for friends and family:0
It isn’t just a ring and a party. That’s only the wedding, and not everyone wants much of a wedding anyway.
some women want to maintain the only real sense of their marriage-worth in a way that is positive.
THISSSSS. I know people who waited til marriage and said it was such a let-down. Also, to go from the mindset of “sex is a horrible, sinful thing” to “sex is a beautiful expression of our love” in the span of one quick ceremony is insane. It’s really, really hard to overcome years of mental training around the shame…
I’ve read a lot of stories about women who waited to have sex until marriage and had a lot of difficulty getting rid of the “sex bad” mindset after they married. The mindset that sex is this bad evil thing that you’re not supposed to have will fuck you up royally.
Yeah, I was actually shocked into silence when I found out that Toronto went completely red. I thought for sure that our riding would be one of the holdovers from the Orange Crush. It made me wonder how many of the people in my riding (which was covered, I mean, nearly literally covered, with orange signs — nearly…
As someone who also voted NDP and is saddened by their numbers, I think we also have to consider that it may be their own fault. The party visibly swung to the centre this election (which they have arguably been doing for a while) and utterly failed to distinguish themselves effectively from the Liberals.
I voted NDP, I am super bummed. In my area it was actually a pretty close race between Cons and NDP. I really don't think Justin is going to make that much of a positive difference.
Lesser of two evils is still evil.
We will always need a significant NDP presence in the house as a left wing anchor and a moral conscience for Parliament. I miss the days of Jack Layton. Mulcair is a good parliamentarian, but lacks the charisma and moral authority of Layton (or Elizabeth May, who does much of the same work as a one-woman show).
I have to agree with you. I was shocked that the NDP fell as far as they did this election. It’s because Mulcair basically has the same charisma that Harper does. Anyone who argues that there wasn’t strategic voting hasn’t been bombarded with Facebook wall of “If you want Harper out, go to this website and see which…
I was not under the impression that NDP would win over Liberals. I just wish that people who generally would want to vote for NDP did not for fear of “giving a vote to the Cons” and thereby costing NDP some seats.
I just wanted MORE NDP involvement.
The fact that NDPs seats went down DRASTICALLY from last election makes me sad. You’re correct in the strategic voting theory. I fuckin hated the whole “it doesnt matter who you vote for, just vote!”
YES IT DOES MATTER WHO YOU FUCKING VOTE FOR, YOU WALNUTS.
My seething rage is calmed only by the fact that I am proud of…
That’s it I’m moving to Norway! Just to be clear Trudeau and the Liberals won because of strategic voting, because it was Anyone But Harper/Conservatives. Because he is young and attractive and because people voted for the Canadian dream he was representing. Not because anyone understood or became familiar with the…
He’s not all sunshine and roses. Trudeau was instrumental in helping the Conservatives roll in Bill C-51 and some other dodgy stuff. However, here’s hoping for some positive change over here in Canada! Anybody has to be better than the Harper Regime....
For me it comes down to one point: Did the author specifically ask whether she could bring the baby? If she did, then sentencing her to a breastfeeding room without warning is a jerk move on the part of the organizer, no question.
