Does anyone remember that episode of Law and Order where there was a nurse that was giving drug adicct women a injection that steralized them? This is what I think of what she was doing. She ended up, of course, going to prison.

Personally, I love beer cozies! They keep the beer cold and the hand warm. Great for any time of year. Not everyone will like it tho, I don't think it really matters much. Like the author said, people care about the food and the dancing (and the drinking).

People here are trying to tell you that a potluck wedding is not a good idea and it's rude. You can have a wedding within your means and offer what you can. But asking your guests to feed themselves is not hosting at all. Many cheaper options, like a BBQ, have been suggested.
