Right there with you, Violetta. Fuck that. I find Pinetarsol Solution works, well, not wonders, but it really keeps it at bay. If you have that where you live, it's worth soaking your hand in the diluted solution. Only thing is that you have to continue using it every few days. It's not a cure, but it's better for you

Your educational institution should have every required textbook in the library. I always just went in and photocopied the required chapters, double-page spread reduced to a sheet. Ends up costing a couple bucks per chapter at most.

If I'd thought about it for even a second before posting, I would've suspected these characters already exist. Because of course they do. Marvel can be impressive in the depths of its asininity… Sorry, "world building."

Yeah, but that name's already under merchandising licence. Let's say Eagle-Eye. No, wait… Sheagle. Really brings out the feminine aspect.

I would totally be on board if some Cannon Films-type operation started producing low-budget Marvel knock-offs featuring superheroines: Spiderwoman… Iron Lady… She-Hulk… uh, lady that shoots arrows?

You are wonderful.

Never seen it.

If you're getting complimentary bread in an Australian restaurant, it's most likely gonna be slices of a crusty white Italian-style loaf.

You mean like rye bread? Maybe if you're a damn hippie.

I'm Australian and have no idea what the hell a bloomin' onion might be. We typically take our onions chopped and barbecued, then served on a slice of white bead with a sausage and tomato sauce.

That's why the AI should be programmed in Esperanto.

"Singin' in the rain looked good in the film, but they must have had to
change their wet shoes. I like my shoes. I don't like to get them wet"

Even worse joke from further back in the day:

"To cast the children in the film, Jolie looked at orphanages, circuses,
and slum schools, specifically seeking children who had experienced
hardship. In order to find their lead, to play young Loung Ung, the
casting directors set up a game…"

The Hairpin is kinda getting back to business, under the stewardship of the wonderful Kelly Conaboy (previously of Videogum). There's no commenting community to speak of, though. I'm not certain how that was so thoroughly gutted. I remember Mallory Ortberg from the comments there and she was so consistently stand-out

You could've watched Tarnation for the hat trick.

And thus a meme is born… Sure to amuse AV Club readers for many years into the futu[[[{KInJA[[]]~~•[[]]..,•

I know it's like the whole point of Avengers, but that looks bloated and overly serious.

Oooohhhh, I get it now. I get things.

Don't think of it as class envy. Go for class contempt.
