    I realize "spiritual" is a better joke, but the term used (精神) is better translated here as mental/emotional, not spiritual. For example, the same term, with "illness" rather than "damage," means "mental illness." It's a word with multiple meanings but in legal terms it is always "psychological/mental/emotional,"
