I'm not sure Jamie is the Son of God/has supernatural powers at all. During the parting of the Thames, Celine is seen fervently praying, and she actually DID talk to God (so we're led to believe) and is miraculously pregnant in spite of being infertile. Celine may be the one with the unexplained aura.
