Yeah, I picked up a Series X a couple weeks ago, and while I think the transition to the new console was flawlessly simple, and I love the convenience features, it just doesn’t feel like much of an upgrade over my One X. Relatively few games are Series X/S optimized, there isn’t a single game I couldn’t already play

If you have an Xbox, the original is on Game Pass (both for the Xbox and PC). It’s on Steam and all sorts of other PC games platforms, too. If you’re Playstation only, then you’re in a bit of a rough spot, but the game is pretty readily available elsewhere.

Rhombus of Ruin is VR-only, though.

Echoing what others are saying, that you can watch it on all sorts of devices including the fire stick, but adding that you DO have to sign up on an Apple platform. So if you have an iPhone, you can do it there, but if you’re a PC user, you have to install iTunes and sign up through there, even if you just want to

Yeah, I get the slippery slope argument. This is definitely because the game was in rough shape, though. The beta was kind of a laughing stock, so they’d rather release something halfway respectable than a mode they already delayed for months because it was such a disaster.

For sure. I’m definitely not on the side of promising things, getting paid for it, and then not delivering. I’m just also not sure that there’s anybody out there who pre-ordered Village because of Re:Verse, and wouldn’t have otherwise.

I see this point, but it’s also hard for me to really feel like I was ripped off paying full price for JUST Village. It’s one of the biggest Resident Evil games, and definitely meatier than RE7, which was released by itself. It felt like Re:Verse was just some thing they were packing in in hopes of it taking off with

The Director’s Cut IS supposed to be their preferred version. It just doesn’t really matter if it’s longer or shorter than a theatrical cut. I think you’re thinking more of “extended” cuts, like with the Lord of the Rings trilogy, where Peter Jackson actually considers the theatrical version to be his Director’s Cut.

It’s not that complicated. A “Director’s Cut” is the director’s intended cut of a movie. Sometimes that’s the same as the theatrical, and sometimes it’s not. Translating that into games, it should mean that the “Director’s Cut” is the version of the game that the director set out to make.

In the case of Death

What hate? I thought ME2 was pretty universally beloved. It’s 3's ending that a lot of people hate.

Good to see somebody else mention Far Cry, because that was the closest comparison point I could come up with, too. About the same level of interactivity here as there is in those games. I didn’t hate Cyberpunk, but did feel like it was fundamentally unfinished, and a massive step back from The Witcher 3.

It came out last year. I also thought that it was a pretty mediocre game outside of its ray-tracing effects and a handful of very good missions (the heist, the finale, that crucifixion quest you mentioned), but y’know, opinions and all that.

How is Metroid Dread “taking advantage” of the OLED Switch any more than any other game? It’s not like the game is mapping color differently on the new screen or anything. It sounds like they’re just trying to promote both things at the same time.

Yeah, this. Also, library-wise, the Switch has been mostly just iterative updates in long-running series (like Mario Party, Smash Bros, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, etc.), or straight-up re-releases of Wii U games. As somebody who owned a Wii U and bought a Switch close to launch, it would be incredibly disappointing if

Watchmen wasn’t cancelled, it just wasn’t intended for anything more than that one season. Damon Lindelof is uninterested in continuing it, and HBO only seems interested if he comes back.

Personally, I think the ending was perfect the way it was, and they shouldn’t bother with more unless somebody has a really strong,

I second the deal trackers; they clued me in to Best Buy releasing more Series X stock this week and I picked one up. Best Buy is also a good site to pick one up at, because they release their stock in waves. So if you miss the initial restock, you can just hang out for a few minutes, and the “out of stock” button

Any time an article block quotes a line from a stand-up special or a comedy song or something as if it’s some official statement it’s immediately a turn-off from me. It’s just stripping away all context and meaning to re-contextualize a small piece of something as part of whatever narrative the writer is trying to

To be fair, most “celebrities” are actors. They normally have whole teams of people handling things like lighting, hair, makeup, etc. They have no clue how to light a scene or make their home look production ready. Hell, asking them to install meeting software and click into a virtual meeting is more than they’re used

It’s utterly bonkers that they looked at all the complaints people have with the game and went “got it, make the XP grind take longer!”

THANK YOU for this information! That’s even worse, then. The game, plus the DLC, even with the discount, is almost $60. That’s only $13 less than it cost me back when I bought the game and the expansion pass on PC at launch. I just want my wife to be able to finish the game she’s 90% of the way through...

Even worse, my wife started it forever ago, hops in periodically, and is about 90% of the way through. I already bought the game and DLC back when it came out on PC, so now my options are to either pay $40 (that’s the *discounted* price) so she can finish the game on Xbox, or she just won’t finish it. It’s one of
