Exactly - the choice between “old man who’s not all there” and “proudly evil old man who’s not all there” should really be an easy one.

Yeah, it’s especially sad/annoying re: Haywire because of how much I love that audio mix. I love the minimal foley and no score during the fight scenes. The fact that they had to ADR the shit out of it for dialogue... ugh.

I used to say that Snyder should just write his own stories if he doesn’t like established characters, but he did that and we got Rebel Moon.

Always found it somewhat morbidly fascinating that one director could take the most fundamental aspects of each profoundly well-known character and say “ehh, you know what, fuck it, this sucks,” and then years later STILL think he was right.
