Back in 2013 the TSA announced that very small knives were going to be allowed again on April 25. Certain groups had a fit and knives stayed band. A number of sharp instruments and tools as dangerous if not more so are still allowed because they aren’t “knives”.

Knives other than butter knives are no longer allowed. The power tripping TSO who confiscated my formally legal Leatherman Micro on my return trip from Omaha blamed that on the Pilot’s Union.
