I actually grew up a Cubs fan - not really much of one anymore (the Nats happened in 2005) but I was CRUSHED when they lost in the ‘03 playoffs and I felt extremely vindicated by their WS win even if I wasn’t really in the fandom anymore. So I feel that bigtime.

I truthfully feel physically lighter today. The Caps winning the Cup has lifted a massive weight off of my shoulders and freed me from the perpetual cycle of disappointment that has come with being a DC sports fan.

Can someone please explain to me why people on the internet have started to spell “folks” as “folx”? Folks is already a gender-neutral word, to change the ks to an x to match up with gender-neutral aesthetics seems remarkably stupid to me (if that is indeed the reasoning behind doin so).
