I once cosplayed Marin and it was the most heart-wrenching thing I’ve ever done, I was such an emotional mess the entire time we were taking photos. Which of course were on a beach near a bunch of seagulls. Why do I do this to myself

This is a good list. Link’s awakening is a game everyone should consider as one of the best.
I attended public school and then a public state college. In Baltimore County Public Schools I learned that regardless of economic, religious or ethnic background, in the classroom you were equals. I learned that if you applied yourself you’d make something of yourself.
I once had to be the mascot for the minor league baseball team I was working for at the time. I fainted in front of an entire elementary school full of children.
The DM for my district when I worked in the Baltimore area was The Worst and he eventually got canned (after I had already quit, largely because of how bad he was). It’s really interesting how much mileage varies at GameStop depending entirely on how decent of a human your DM is.
If you can find them! Digimon World DS is strangely difficult to find these days. I played it when it came out and enjoyed it but I haven’t been able to find my copy as of recently. Dusk was also good!
Yep! That’s how things should be. But over-eager district managers (at least in my experience) have a habit of pushing numbers over what the customers actually want in order to impress their bosses or whatever. And unfortunately there are far too many of those types in Gamestop.
I was yanked around by my DM for four long pain in the ass years and I held on to the gig because I had store managers who always had my back. Until I landed a shitty store manager and I quit in the middle of conference just to embarrass him in front of all the better ones.
As an adult who knows better I still occasionally stop in there just because I have some good friends who are store managers. I don’t think I’d still shop there otherwise.
They’ve always been poorly made tchotchkes
This sounds about right coming from GS home office.
I hate when I see cosplayers do this. Putting 99% of the effort into just one aspect of the costume and then mailing the rest of it in.
Busiest store in the district + not being given any hours to schedule GAs = terribly messy store that employees on the clock would not be able to finish before needing to clock out. Which is why he stayed until 3am cleaning the walls, processing trades, organizing systems, etc.
DIGIMON WORLD 4 L M F A O
I forget what the breakdown for GameStop’s profits are, but an abysmally low percentage of that is new game sales. Which is why they harp on pre-owned so much.
I think the veracity of this article largely depends on what district you’re working in - I’ve got friends locally (Baltimore area) who are SMs at GameStop that say COL is very whatever and the district managers are all very chill about making numbers and whatnot. Not to say that GameStop isn’t shitty (IT IS) but in…
oh gee wowee wow i’ve never thought of having a savings account before
As I’ve said like 20 other times now, NO, not suggesting that. (Though I guess depending on your financial situation people might use it for games) Just for larger purchases, like systems, it’s a nice option to have. I generally just split payment when I have things like gift cards and whatnot. So right now I’ve got…
Interesting. Maybe when I eventually get a laptop or something I’d do that. But my only console preorder right now is a Switch, and that’s at Gamestop primarily bc I got giftcards for christmas and I’d much rather have half of it paid off in that fashion than pay it via Amazon with all of my own money, ya feel?
ok guy
drawing a connection between “person you’ve never met pays for video games differently” and “this is how drumpf won” is a stretch. hope your arms are ok
