Having a learning disability doesn’t mean she doesn’t know right from wrong. I hope that doesn’t become the narrative.

I feel exactly the same way about the Wii U. I own it, it’s set up in my new house right now. I don’t regret making the decision to purchase it. But it feels to Nintendo kind of what the Saturn was to Sega - bad marketing decisions, few exclusive first-party titles of any quality.
I’ve pre-ordered a Switch and the…
I imagine that would be the case. I like to think that most of their third party partners on the system would be waiting until E3 to do those announcements. Which is fine! Zelda is going to carry me for at least the first couple of months on this system anyway, and that’ll be followed with MK8 Deluxe and Spla2n
I think Yooka-Laylee and Stardew Valley are both in development for Switch release iirc
I know it’s not going to please everyone, but for my gaming sensibilities, this is a pretty solid first six months or so.
I mean, I get that. But when a bunch of people say “this is offensive to me because ___” and your response is “it’s not offensive because I am Korean” that’s really missing the mark IMO. I think there needs to be a willingness to engage your multicultural audience when they speak out against something rather than…
The cosplay scene, actually, and there’s /plenty/ of historical context for brownface - of white actors portraying offensive stereotypes of other races via makeup. It’s not something that cosplayers invented in order to take offense to it.
Ah yes, a single hispanic person who speaks for an entire race.
“-facing” in the cosplay community is bad because... it’s... racist??? Nothing to do with being paid or anything, it is bad because it’s a bad thing to do. Period.
Wouldn’t it kind of go like this?
Yeah I think it’s a little more nuanced than either side wants to make it out to be. Her facebook post regarding the backlash just echoes that of a lot of far worse examples of black/brownface - I think ultimately the biggest issue is that other cultures don’t really understand how offensive it can be to people.
I don’t think what she did was malicious (and I don’t think this instance is that bad anyway) but I think her defense of it came off as super tone-deaf to the overall community problem of brownfacing and just added fuel to the fire. It was largely her saying “I’m Korean and I don’t see dark skin as unpretty” which…
Her rant rings particularly tone-deaf to the overall community issue though
This is definitely just like, bronzer and whatnot, but it’s a little heavy-handed (in my opinion) as to end up kind of skirting a line. I don’t think this is as bad as people are making it out to be. But to be completely fair, brownfacing for cosplay remains such a problem in the community. Too often have I seen…
I’ve never been much of a fan of white consoles. But that may stem from my experience in working for GameStop where they would regularly come in looking brown/gray and overall way grodier than the black consoles. (Not to say that black consoles don’t get gross, but they do definitely hide it better)
I was there as a Team Skull grunt and it was honestly such a fun time even though I was only in that costume for like 3 hours. Everyone was so fun, I’m glad I took the time to put the outfit together.
Shrinkwrap is so easily tampered with, and since unlike Microsoft there’s no seal on the top/sides it’d be remarkably easy for a Target employee to have pried the disc out of there and get a different one in there without taking the wrap off.
They’re media that reports on games, so. yeah
She expresses some pretty sincere regrets in post-game in regards to what happened with Lillie and Gladion and how she wasn’t really able to do anything to help them, too.
Fighting someone in Pokemon shouldn’t qualify them as villainous though. Hau certainly isn’t a villain and you fight him like 9 times
