@historydoll: Thanks! That looks really great for days where my willpower will not suffice :)

I mostly use Pages in full screen view, but I always turn Airport off first so that I have no internet connection (longer battery life and the extra step to check Facebook means I'm less likely to until I'm finished).

I use reporters pads. I'm training to be a translator/interpreter and the first thing I was told to do was go buy at least 5 - you can get to the next page quickly, you don't have too much info on a page and the page isn't so small that you're constantly changing.

What are the alternative sites to running playlist? I've tried google but I'd like someone to recommend ones that they know are good so I don't put in a load of false information.

If you're studying foreign languages and get asked to buy a dictionary then do look on Amazon for that country and check out the dictionary prices. I've bought my French, German, Spanish and Italian books in the relevant countries or on Amazon and have found that they tend to be better for translation. And they have

Definitely get liquid medicines as well as tablets. I only had tablets last year and came down with the flu, started out with a sore throat which made eating, and swallowing tablets impossible. If I'd had liquid medicine I doubt I'd have been that ill but because I only had tablets and couldn't swallow I ended up out

I just have one of those timer switches on a regular lamp which works fine for me. Granted this is in addition to natural sunlight but it works just fine.

Vote: Simplenote

I personally love my Sony PRS-505 and know several other people that also love theirs. For me the kindle would make me have to carry a bigger handbag and I'd only get the advantage of being able to get books wirelessly which I'd rather not do anyway.

I originally voted for Toodledo but I do use paper as well, not being able to have my phone at work or surf the net 'randomly' means I capture tasks I remember on paper then shove them in Toodledo at lunch or after work as a process them (say when I'll do them etc).

@NumbersGuy: @TheFu got it right - if you see smoke from a bonfire but the smell isn't in the car yet use it then until you're past. But don't leave it on, it essentially traps the air in the car which leads to lower oxygen levels and you falling asleep at the wheel (that's according to my car manual anyway). -

For non streaky fake tan I normally have a shower first and scrub my legs with an exfoliating body scrub, then when I get out I immediately apply vaseline to my elbows and just below my knees as well as around my ankles (any thick-ish moisturiser will do), then let that sink in for a little (I normally apply

@zombies.like.lattes.too: Maybe just try an exercise/swiss ball? I do the exercises displayed there with one - it's harder because it moves under you but it's good exercise!

It immediately popped into my head that you can do this on a Mac with a Folder Action and Automator Applications - simply have 2 dropbox folders, and have the applications in one then the folder action for the other, if the folder action sees one of the applications it runs it then puts it back, simple!

I just switched back to gmail and after spending a while setting up some unusual accounts so I could send/receive email within in installed these filters - I'm in heaven! Thanks :)

@Drakkim: Fiction books don't have the CD and scanning in 500+ page books is a little tiresome :)

If I buy a CD I can put it on my iPhone, if I buy a DVD I can do the same, yet I can't do this with eBooks? I'm waiting for the day when you get a special code on the bookstore receipt which goes into their online shop and lets you download the book in whatever format you want - I'd even pay a small fee (5% of the

If you're doing mass conversions (ahem, I have ~3,000 books in my library) then I used Stanza to convert them in ~20 file chunks then file, save all - admittedly I'm now using Calibre to sort all the MetaData but the conversion was so much faster using Stanza, especially when I figured out how to use it with
