As veteran, I say this: Fuck all this noise about “sacrifices”. Sacrificing life and limb to protect our “freedoms” is pretty meaningless if the freedoms I’ve potentially sacrificed life and limb for can’t be exercised.

If I felt I could trust the police, as a whole, to identify and punish those among them who do those bad things, then I’d probably feel a lot better about police as a whole.
