Monogamy may defy certain biological imperatives and may not make as much sense for modern eighty-year life spans

Dworkin? Is that you?

That's speciesism, or at least human-bias about what 'intelligence' means. Culture does have a lot to do with what animals we consider smarter than others. Pigs and dogs, for example. When it comes down to it, though, we really shouldn't judge animals by human standards of intelligence. Evolution is pretty

This is why I'm glad I do lots of resistance training — my caloric requirements are greater, so I just eat the food and don't think. Hooray for being a dumb jock!

worrying about weight loss takes up much of the precious brain bandwidth

I think the reason it's lacking in clarity is that it isn't very funny.

I think it's safe to assume that she's not trying to make any grandiose statements about men and emotions, and that all of that stuff is just for the sake of enhancing the satire.

Sort of.

Honestly, I think the irony that Tracie's pointing out here is that, in the tradition of TV stylists, they are attempting to make these women look like Old Navy and Walmart shoppers with high-end clothes. Why? Nobody knows why. But the frump is intentional for sure.

This cements it - I have no fashion sense at all, because I don't understand why those clothes should be that expensive as they seem kinda meh (cute, cute patterns...but for that price?!). Exceptions made for the chevron sweater (gimme) and the bag (gimme). it's good I work from home. Right now I'm wearing Old Navy

I'm seconding the others who've said that mental illness can cause the degree of depersonalisation needed to severely mutilate one's-self without the influence of any drugs at all.

Well, my late father-in-law suffered from some pretty hardcore schizophrenia, and during a particularly bad episode (more or less a psychotic break) he lopped off his nuts and peen; he subsequently bled to death. The family requested a toxicology report and he was clean; no drugs, not even his prescribed medication
