Most werent mustache twirling villians in kids cartoons, but germany is the 1930s and 40s is a good example of what happens when you let cowardice and xenophobia rule a country. The big issue with the mustache twirling characterization imo is the implication that those people were evil and this could never happen

It would be super hard to handle it well. I see three options: 1). Nazi is a decent guy who then becomes the white savior who both acknowledges that everyone in his social circle is basically evil and fight for good. Not horrible, but not great either. 2). Nazi is a decent guy, but minimizes the actions (or the film

Yep, some antibiotics lessen the effectiveness if BC! Spread the news!

At least require guys pay for birth costs. Ive never once heard of a child support bill (where parenta split up pre-birth) that required men to pay half of the birth costs. Just like with everything else, guy pays what he can based on a judges opinion and then women ate onligated to make up the difference if it

In abortion rights specifically No uterus, no opinion is perfect. Im with you on other womens issues 100%, but the whole point of that statement is you dont get to legislate and talk down to people on what they should be doing, if you are unable to experience it yourself. Its easy to say “well it i were x, i would do

I completely agree on the need to fight and absolutely will. And i really hope we do win because maybe it’ll mean the next democrat president will be able to get more done. Can you imagine Obama’s presidency if he didnt have to spend so muck time un-fucking all of Bush’s policies?

Its not like theres 1 editorial writer. If someone points out that there are no women chefs in a restaurant do you point out all the waitresses?

By favorite do you mean, “had to pause the video and take a deep breath becore continuing”? If so, then me too.

Im not lowerIng my expectations, merely getting a start on plan b and c if needed and warning people now that a failure in 2018 doesnt mean to pack up your toys and go home. I admit this mentality comes from being a liberal in a solid red state where the democrats regularly get shitwhipped every election and we are

It doesn’t take any more special recruiting to find a qualified AA writer than any other qualified writer though? Its not like theres a binder full of outstanding white reporters at their disposal and only the so-so African Americans applied while the qualified ones mysteriously chose not to apply.

Look at the racial makeup of St. Louis. If there isnt an African American writer on the newspapers staff, thats pretty shocking and indicative of a problem isnt it.

Its going to be hard in the senate. We can keep our 48 (im including independents as dems) and hopefully flip arizona and nevada, but everywhere else is pretty solid. Our best bet is to try nebraska or Cruz’s seat in Texas. Its goong to be a hard one.

I like her, but shes not our only shot. Al Franken (although im a little concerned about his age, as i am with warren), Tammy Duckworth, and Kirsten Gillibrand would all unite i think. Id also add Chris Murphy and Kamala Harris to the list, pending more info.

I think people understood the internalized sexism thing and were still irritated. It still said that women would only vote for him because of internalized sexism, which was blatantly bullshit.

Haha, i got super concerned when i read that. I was like, i moved. Theres no unregister to vote form you can fill out, and i voted only in my new state. What do uou want from me?

I feel the same way wrt finesse, haha. I completely agree with everything you’ve said.

Absolutely. Most of the mistakes are things we can only see now that we have the benefit of hindsight. I think most criticisms of her should be more of the “well, lets not do that again because it clearly didnt work” variety and not the “fuck her she sucks” because Clinton couldnt have predicted the way a lot of these

I also got that and to an extent see where she’s coming from, but because so much of sexism is tied to our anatomy: too hormonal to x, womens health issues, not strong enough, kick like a girl, etc., i cant get behind her statement. Just as we cant erase, trans concerns, we also cant eliminate sex specific concerns.

Gerrymandering is definitely an issue we need to fix! I completely agree with that and all of us can take steps to fix that.

I agree that the flip wasnt likely, but if our 2018 and 2020 Candidates don’t learn from this, then we’ll deserve 8 years of trump. Especially since we can expect even more Republican bullshit now that they have even more power.
