“For me, this was most apparent in the solo battle arena underneath Corel Prison.”

If you’re talking about the dog-like enemies that just stand there for a bit at the start of the match, that’s intended. They’re a reference to some dev/debug enemies (also called “Test 0") you could glitch into fighting in FFVII

I mean, she may have done the initial breaking, but the Great Runes were stolen by the children after that, and the entire war over them was called “The Shattering” so... I don’t think there’s much of a distinction to be made.

but that doing it is not actually fun game play

The mechanics surrounding Pokemon stats are so antiquated and opaque. I really hope they streamline it in the future.

My bad.
They share so many irritating qualities in game design it was easy to forget!

Game Freak not Nintendo

It honestly aggravates the hell out of me. I got into raising competitiv(esque) Pokemon during XYORAS and while the EV training games took forever, at least I could visualize them. But I had to use Serebii’s IV calculator to figure out what those stats were, and it was all very time-consuming. I’m not opposed to

It’s unclear when exactly the foot fetish meme took hold in the Souls community,

The enemies with gold eyes just give more runes than the regular versions, and they’re random, as far as I know.

“What if we just made everything nasty a lot bigger too?”
Yeah!”
“What if there was a poison swamp like in every other Souls game, but hear me out here, what if the poison was far deadlier and harder to cure?”
“Yeah!”
“What if there were crows as big as a truck that could swoop down on unsuspecting players at every

Caelid was the first region I ended up in while ‘exploring’ and I regretted it IMMEDIATELY. It’s like someone at FromSoftware went to Australia, realized everything there was weird and wants to kill you, and decided to remake it into Caelid.

14 or the 7 Remake do just fine on that front.
