see and this is the first trek show i’ve ever really watched and the jokes all work on their own merits, too. i can tell when something is being referenced (and obviously i catch the major cameos) but it doesn’t hurt my viewing at all.

Star Trek Lower Decks is amazing. I am still watching s2 but I love all the callbacks to random episodes of all the other Trek series. The episode where Commander Ransom became a Gary Mitchell-like god-like being & how Mariner dealt with it was incredible.
