Man.. fall 1987, first year of college. I saw multiple copies of this game every single day getting snacks at an old Woolworths (I think) and my eyes were always drawn to it because of the cartoonish box. If I only knew then. :(

Maybe it was the time of day but I was just in the United lounge in Narita last week and the place was mostly empty.. I drank 2 free Asahi beers but took a total pass on the food in there and instead ventured back outside to eat some Katsu Curry and never went back. It’s boring in there. :p

Nice.. Growing up in Guam in the 70s, the majority of arcade games we got were 100% pure TAITO (Space Invaders, Space Chaser, Alpine Ski, Wild Western, Qix, etc.). So I love their stuff.

You’d be surprised how much more crazy stuff there is beyond just clicking.. mostly optimizations and getting most bang for your buck over time.

The Touch Zeldas come to mind.. i.e Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks. I recall them being enjoyable but the ending portions became really tedious and I ended up just stopping playing, and I don’t even remember doing it (stopping).

I got a NIB Gameboy Camera (used to have 6).. but I guess those aren’t exactly hugely coveted. :p

I LOVE Shining Force.. although admittedly I’ll pop in Shining Force CD more often than 1&2 as I find the RPG exploration somewhat distracting from the battles I want to play.. but when I have the time I’ll play them. :)
