Yes, my initial thought was that Pettigrew was drunk and attacked her. He was very drunk in the flashback episode where he argued with Erik. Yuri said that was the last time he was seen, so I thought he went back to the hotel, attacked Elena and then Dan helped her deal with him. Every episode certainly throws up

Yes, I do realise that, in particular because polar Bears don't kill their prey before they eat it, they just start munching. I'm merely speculating on the emphasis that was put upon Pettigrews scream and the way Liam screamed last night, could his scream have been distorted like Liam's due to mammoth virus?

The boatman who stole the mammoth tusks from Ronnie too, we haven't seen or heard from him since, or where the tusks have ended up.

oooh yes, you could be right there. I didn't think of him with the mammoth virus. That could explain the inhuman scream Dan said he heard Pettigrew making when he was being mauled by the polar bear. Like Liam's scream last night.

My theory is Pettigrew raped or attacked Elena. She stabbed him, that's why they changed the carpet in his hotel room. Dan came to her rescue because he's more than a bit obsessed with her. He helped her get her new identity and come to Fortitude after she was released from prison, for murdering her ex boyfriend.
