The guitar solo from Ween's "Buenos Tardes Amigo" always gives me goosebumps. The solo in "Mutilated Lips" is pretty excellent too.
We watched Platoon in my 7th grade English class as well. Our teacher fast forwarded through much of it though, and mainly wanted to highlight Samuel Barber's score for some reason. I remember watching American History X in my high school algebra class once, that was pretty cool at the time.
