Except home built is always an option because it really takes very little time to get enough hardware knowledge and do the needed research (like a day maybe). So what he should say is it isn't always an option do to pure laziness.

So all that detail is pretty amazing...however was such intricate detail on the engine that we are never really going to see really needed? I would have gladly sacrificed a little bit of detail on the engine if I could have been playing this last year.

@leno40: I usually trade in older games to the stores that also don't get a whole lot more. Getting double the money means a lot when we're talking about $20-$25...not quite as much when we're talking $6 vs $12.
