There was a definite shift not just in the direction and sequencing (showing the wedding in flashbacks) but we got to see scenes not involving Claire's perspective through Jamie's storytelling which I loved. At first I was wondering if we were shifting to other character perspectives but it is always grounded back to

Even though Dougal overstepped the bounds of common decency (again), I can't help but feel sorry for him. A testament to how great Graham MacTavish plays him. I loved loved loved how Jamie told Claire about Dougal's chauvinistic advice, how he tells Dougal he's happy to be whipped, and how Claire then takes a chunk of

Yes, I loved it too! It was surprising to see him so spontaneous, and that move added so much to the whimsy of that scene. Awww.

I know we are at episode 7 and all, but I think that this episode merited an A+! The direction and sequencing, the amazing costumes, beautiful music. Heck even Angus and Rupert were adorable with the ring and the barging in. And oh yes, the hot sex of course. Actually A+++!

I just had to share this link. It features two sneak peek scenes from this week's episode. Murtagh's in both clips. Love him! Can't. Wait.

Bear McCreary continues to outdo himself with the music on this show - not just with the beautiful theme song but also the credits music. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend reading his blog about Outlander music at his website, www.bearmccreary.com. There you'll learn that different characters have

Nope, you're not in the wrong section. But I like them both in different ways…so much eye candy on this show!

I agree about his expression - he really captured the whole megalomania of this character and how his attention to each detail is simultaneously artistic and sadistic. He was mesmerizing even in his villainy. Such a surprise and kudos to him. They really fleshed out in this episode what took only a few paragraphs in a

I love GOT too but they only get 10 episodes so things move necessarily fast. I like that we have a luxurious 16 episodes for the first book…that is why I have enjoyed how gradually the story has unfolded so far. It is going to be a long wait between episode 8 in a couple of weeks and episode 9 some time in 2015 (ugh)

I was thinking the same thing…the decreased voice overs are most welcome. And we really don't need voice overs next week. Please!

I totally agree. While I did like Murtagh in the books, Duncan Lacroix brings his whole other dimension to him. He's Jamie's dad, conscience, sidekick, and boon companion rolled into one. A greater godfather is hard to find!

I do have to admit that while there is all sorts of crackling chemistry between Claire and. Jamie, there is a lot of interesting chemistry between Claire and Dougal. I will say no more :-)

I have admired Tobias Menzies' work ever since I first saw him in Rome. in this episode he has earned even more of my admiration even though he plays such a despicable character. I don't remember if Black Jack is an artist in the books, but that touch added an interesting shade to his character. Especially when he

I had a feeling about the candy dish from the moment it appeared, but it was still shocking to see it deployed. I liked how Brody was so unreadable until that last scene, and even so, I still feel like he is so opaque. Damien Lewis once again turns in a masterful performance. That being said, and as much as I like

I agree that the writing has not really led us into investing into any of the relationships (but for one exception I will explain in a bit)…the most unbelievable being Jack and Margaux and the one I guess we are supposed to root for, Aidan and Emily. But all throughout the latter's scenes, I couldn't help but feel
