Oldboy, perhaps?

DENNIS!

It makes me think of Echo helping Topher save the Dollhouse out of compassion and seeing him so nervous. Westworld has no reason for such mercy though.

I think Malcolm Tucker would have some choice words for him.

Why did it take this long for Lili Simmons to be introduced? After Banshee's end I was hoping she'd get a chance to play some rich girl client who wants to be rescued but instead we get a literal replacement? sigh*

I can't decide if the soldier going silently rogue is a subtle piece of thematic storytelling or evidence that the writer of the Nightmare on Elm St remake doesn't know how to make a convincing character arc for a traitor…

In some ways the characters are the most morally compromised and insecure Whedon's ever made, which makes rooting for them feel like more of an accomplishment than Firefly imo.

The stand alones are pretty flimsy, but even then it's clear Whedon is trying to put in themes more overtly than any of his other projects.

The Path

Perhaps it was the forced sex scene where she never says "no"?

Counterpoint: two of my favorite shows to re-watch are Banshee and Dollhouse. Both hold together different ways and never seem to get boring despite the episodic nature of them.

True Detective is FASCINATING to watch again in retrospect, because so much of the mood and characters is so on the nose pulpy it makes you realize how much that ending didn't fit.

Holy fuck, I forgot he's turned into a "Screaming Potato," that was so egregious…

Good point

I guess so

This feels like a whole lotta fuss about a pretty cliche theme. Am I really supposed to care about a guy who gets into fights but still gets hit on by women? I know people like that who are straight scumbags and adding a kid into the mix wouldn't make me hold my breath.

Miami Metro Homicide!

This makes me think of the finale of True Detective season 2

I noticed that scene, only I thought if it was intentional then the problem would be how she doesn't react differently to the voice on the phone…

Can you tell me what part of the episode that's in, because I would LOVE to see it…
