I think it's a bit cheap to make self-absorption to be their defining characteristic, I'd rather see them be somewhat devious and less like teenagers.
I know a guy who doesn't necessarily make the same jokes, but has a similarly self-amused, narcissistic manner as Trevor. And he scares the fork out of me because people like that seem to acknowledge no limits.
