My biggest concern about a female Bond would be the poor woman gets the Dr. Who treatment: interesting and talented star stuck with such terrible writing that you’re certain they’ll go right back to a male actor the first chance they get.

I can’t imagine a show that would get worse treatment from being “American-ized” than The Detectorists. No way would let let its beautiful pacing survive.

After seeing the teaser, I’m now deeply concerned about Welcome to Flatch, the renamed version of This Country (easily my favorite British comedy of the decade).

Of all the Mythic Quest B-plots to stretch into a full length movie, I can’t say this is the one I’d pick.

Poorna Jagannathan seems to get all the praise for this show, but my MVP of the series is John McEnroe. I can’t imagine the intended audience for this show, though, would ever get the multitude of 80's tennis references he throws in there. The (slightly) more modern Bryan brothers dig last season had me in tears

Gordo and Tracy’s moonwalk was as haunting as anything I’ve seen on screen all year. I lost a lot of sleep that night mentally replaying that sequence over and over again.

Serious question: Have any of these decades-late comedy sequels been any good?

Welp, I lost money betting that Jason Sudeikis would be in the last batch of hosts this year.

The Jim Brockmire takeovers of the Dan Le Batard podcast last year were an utter delight in the midst of a bleak year, but listening to the first episode of his new podcast made it pretty clear that you better come to play ball or you’re gonna get steamrolled. I’m intrigued how it’ll go when/if he has a guest that

The header image makes me think this is The Walking Dead / Schitt’s Creek crossover event we’ve all been waiting for.

In for Sasheer Zamata.  She sure got the short end of the stick on SNL.

I have no doubt as a woman of color that there was a very real, very unfortunate, pay gap in play here, but the phrase “people were coming in after me making more than me” also pretty much describes any career in IT.

History with painkillers + back surgery last month + a recent loopy TV interview + today’s car rollover. It isn’t a huge stretch to connect the dots here. Hoping he gets the help he needs (assuming he needs it).

This would be a far different movie if it were based on a Don DiMello novel.

This’ll be a classic point-and-click adventure game like Fate of Atlantis, right?, and not some cookie cutter action-adventure game.

Scott Auckerman’s pronunciation of Come Play in the Gillian Jacobs episode of CBB makes that unfortunate movie title worth it.

I would never expect it on a U.S.-based list, especially since Hulu is dragging its feet bringing the final season stateside, but This Country wrapped up a spectacular run this year. Normally I would have zero faith in the American remake that’s currently in production - I don’t see how the humor would translate well

For a show that looks terrible on paper but was vastly better than it had any right to be, Dave put together a couple stunners - my favorite being “Ally’s Toast”.

If we’re turning early 90s LucasArts adventure games into movies now, I have quite a few I’d put higher than _The Dig_.

Smartless is one of my favorite new podcasts of the pandemic. It’s super rough around the edges, but also a load of fun. I keep hoping they’ll release a few that don’t have a guest and is simply the hosts shooting the shit.

Let me correct the first line of this article:
“John Boyega scored the role of a lifetime after getting cast as Moses, a key character in Big Talk Pictures Attack the Block,...”
