To be fair, Hickey was Pierce's replacement. And Chang's always been around.

Nah, he rescinded the order at the last second.
You're entitled to your opinion. This wasn't exactly a golden episode.
B+ I usually find these school hijinks stories lacking, but this had its moments. Agree with the underuse of the stunt cast. Labyrinth jokes were amazingly punchy.
Honestly? As much as I find Megan Boone easy on the eyes, her plots have been substandard at best. Just give me more Red killing people, make Boone his antagonist a la Det. Carter in season one POI, and I'm on board.
BTW, did anyone catch the Wilhelm scream during the assault on Shirley Island?
I assumed she did not survive Shirley Island's collapse.
Two people didn't get your "Curriculum Unavailable" reference.
Why, did they reference M*A*S*H a lot in the Max Max movies?
Yeah, it's just that Jeff is normally the straight man in these proceedings, only getting into it after the stakes are explained in full detail. Even in A Fistful of Paintballs/For A Few Paintballs More he more or less reluctantly slouched into his role than eagerly jumping into it like the rest of the group.
A. It's as good as Modern Warfare for me.
Personally, I was bothered that Jeff was so into the bit this time.
"Me? I'm just in it for the money. My son's getting gay married; the flowers alone, you have no idea…"
"…I get it. I lived in New York."
Personally, I hope he and Levar just end up off the coast of Belize doing Reading Rainbow reenactments, so they can return just in time for the sixth season (or the movie).
Yep, you're pretty much insane. Watch it again, it really feels like Modern Warfare's goofy kid brother, whereas the other paintball episodoes felt like entirely different beasts. I loved it to bits, with all of the post-apoc references, from Mad Max to The Warriors.
Don't forget the Freaky Friday episode. That was one of the few S4 episodes that truly felt like Harmon Community, in a season that was trying really hard — and failing — to feel like regular Community.
I think you're trying to hate this show too much. It's much better than Season 4. Even if you didn't tell me that Harmon was running _this_ season, I would've figured out by episode two, from the stylistic choices alone.
You're reading too much into a throwaway reference, which references another throwaway reference in an otherwise substandard season 1 episode. Hell, I didn't even get it because said episode was so bad I blotted it from memory.
There's at least one more high concept episode: the one where Starburns dons the Zardoz bikini.
If this episode came out last season, they would not have committed to the bit this much.
