As someone who swapped the TMIC for a FMIC, I can honestly say for driveability I prefer the TMIC. The FMIC just adds so much lag for not that much of a gain until you go to a larger turbo. 

I bought my 2015 s4 6mt new.  Had to custom order it and wait 3 months because dealers didn't stock any manual cars with reasonable options.

The subtle differences between specific TT trim levels from one year to the next is the kind of stuff the Audi TT forums will live for in 2038.

There are companies now that can 3d print sand cores. If you have a CAD model to 3d print, you can print the cores, cope and drag. Then, have a foundry pour it.

Motus! They actually sell that as a crate motor and it’s pretty stout! I’m from Birmingham, AL (where they’re made), and have spoken with several of their guys, been to open houses, etc. Their engine is basically a Chevy LS cut in half (their words).
