yeah everything you mentioned wasn't funny and the audience barely chuckled at that. Compared to Guardians where so many bits people were outright laughing. The truck bit in Man of Steel was meant to be funny until you realize he destroyed that guys livelihood.

Nolan's scripts are guidelines. That's why he knows what to edit out, including those moments you mention. And the Begins screenplay was rewritten by Nolan. I've read the final Goyer draft and the shooting script, whilst not exactly totally different, you can see Nolan was editing out the "Goyer" from the screenplay.

Never underestimate the stupidity of Hollywood execs. Batman Begins had light and funny moments and worked well. But then Man of Steel....
