I don't think you can call the movie a failure just because its box office was a little less than expected in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

That'd be awesome if someone digs up some recordings of Blagojevich type phone conversations.

It would have been Keith Urban, but he turned it down.

This is actually an excellent point. How stupid must you be to have slaves do the cooking? I assume the diet of slaveowners was like 30% pubes.

I think you said "awesome" when you meant "acceptable.

"And then the evil black man attacked Mary Sue, the purest and most virginal woman in the entire world."

When I was at Angkor Wat, there was a Cambodian wedding couple having their pictures taken there. Apparently it's a popular location for that. (It sure wouldn't be if Cambodians had to pay the same admission price as foreigners.)

"And now for our brewing challenge: the Trail of Beers."

For a second I thought that said, "Plantains are awesome," and I was ready to start a fight.

"Me no likee you chicken dish. No authentic Chinee food. Confucius say you pack knives and go home."

Jim Crow is slavery fanfic. I like that metaphor.

Eh, I don't know a whole lot about Collins except that she's pretty much the most moderate Republican in the senate. Maybe that's pure cynicism and maybe she's a terrible person, and clearly she knew from the start that Donald Trump was unqualified to be president of the United States, but I'd still rather see her in

Fair enough. I've forgotten the exact circumstances, and I'm too lazy to look it up at the moment, but one thing I can say for sure is that the original agreement was way too lenient.

I know. And that's wrong. It's even worse when it's some poor person who hasn't got the resources to fight than when it's an asshole like Polanski who does.

It seemed like nothing was going to stick anyway. People who voted for Trump were going to vote for Trump, facts and logic be damned. I don't know if more negative shit about him would have done much to increase Democratic turnout, but all indications are that it would have done very little to deter Republicans from

I don't know about that. The crime was horrible, but it's important to maintain a justice system that's both impartial and efficient. I'd argue that Polanski's crime is worse on a small-scale, personal level, but that the issues with his sentencing speak to an institutional failure, which is pretty terrible.

Well there is that.

Wasn't aware of that aspect of it. It's still no way to run a justice system.

I'm assuming the evidence is pretty weak, or else Hillary would have used it against him. The evidence that he raped his ex-wife is stronger, but if she confirms it she'll lose millions of dollars.

My hope is that if someone other than Trump gets in with the assistance of Democratic electors, then a moderate Supreme Court pick is part of the deal.
