Friday was my birthday too. We didn’t know the attacks had happened until late in the evening because I celebrated by spending a Babies R Us gift certificate on some noisy toys for the almost toddler, and didn’t have the tv or radio on while we played with them. Living in a lucky, lucky bubble.

Everything I have read about people’s accounts of the situation has made me sad. This girls depictions of what they went through made me bawl my eyes out. I have 3yo twin boys and I now regret bringing them into this world.

Beautiful, heartbreaking words that have left me a blubbering mess. Nos cœurs se brisent pour vous. Nous vous souhaitons force et notre amour.

That was terrible and beautiful and I wept.

I’ve been either crying or on the verge of tears for two days now. I’m glad this woman survived to bear witness. I mourn, with all civilized society, for those who did not survive. May her words bring some measure of comfort to their loved ones, in comfortless times.

When this all unfolded on Friday, I was celebrating my daughter's 13th birthday. I was so grateful to be where I was, in that place, with my smiling, happy child. And my heart broke for those families who will not be able to do the same. I'm crying. We can be better. We should be.

Everyday I thank God for my small boobs, as they allow me to stand next to whomever I please.

Anyone else remember the Gawker thread were even regular commenters were going on about how hot she is and her boobs? And the pile on that happened to the few who said it wasn’t appropriate (ie. Go back to Jezebel, we’re just having fun, you can’t police my thoughts)?

I was reading the comments on Instagram of some girl who was on the Bachelor (the one who got married on Bachelor in Paradise to the guy she met on the previous season of that show). And she has big boobs. So many girls were like “It’s disgusting that you choose to post this picture. You are MARRIED. Shame on you.”…

Welp. Looks like I have to go fight all of Instagram. BRB.
