Yeah, it's appalling coming from a judge especially considering that it conflicts with the CPS's overall message (which I wrote about here). But unfortunately over here, judges don't normally face being sacked solely on grounds of being a bad judge.

But unfortunately it most likely won't be in public. I wouldn't be surprised if a higher up in the judiciary had a word in his ear about the beautiful opportunities available in early retirement, but they are unlikely to reprimand in public. They tend to reserve that for cases where the judges have done something…
The average sentence only nets around eight. Which is longer than the average manslaughter charge. So while five years does seem to be unduly lenient, it is not extraordinarily so (as say two or three years might be). A US judge would be more likely to hit out a longer sentence, with the average being about 11 years,…
Just so you know, or might want to add it to the article, the CPS has already ruled that all these kind of myths can't be included in the case prosecution/defense nor in sentencing:

The DPP has also said reiterated forcefully that such matters aren't to be brought up in court:

I just can't tell in this thread
Steve Buscemi is playing it for you!
Maybe Katy Perry can get the Supreme Court to give her a religious exemption from copy-right law. She could say that she has a 'genuinely held belief' in Witchcraft and Black Magic...
It's not a money thing. It's a class thing. Check out Owen Jones' "Chav: Demonisation of the Working Class".
You are using the word wrong. I just don't know what else to tell you. I have to ask whether you are British again because you are glossing over so much of the fucking obvious class connotations of the word…
Yeah I missed that the OP was a joke, my humour detector is broken by this article. Soz
No, just that your definition is clearly wrong. Because these aren't chavs and you are using the slang properly (although I haven't genuinely heard anyone call anyone else a chav in like 6 years)
"In fact, a lot of folks might describe some of these rich kids as Chavs, themselves."
No they wouldn't. Are you actually from Britain? Because while they might be called many things, they wouldn't be called a chav. Your definition seems whack
It always makes me cringe. But yes so many of the Sloaney girls would go around talking about "mommy dearest" and "daddy" in insipid tones
They are clearly in the cadets, so while they are being insufferable twits they aren't actually breaking any laws. It's not like the guns go home with them from the range
"Oh shit, your thousand dollar is so gauche" is quite a douchy statement to make

"Coon, it's Australian for Tasty"
Riiiiiight...
"Can you imagine the outcry if the most common name for a dairy product was "kike cheese?"
Wait, so you only enjoy the games that you are best at (and coincidentally only a dozen or so countries play)? That seems really boring
Their tears sustain me
