I think the distinguishing feature is when done right the shin tackle can break someone's leg quite badly

It's a well established dirty tackle that has ended careers in the past. Both Marchisio and Suarez (especially Suarez) are probably going to end up having the book at them by FIFA
Don't foget Marchiso trying to break the Uruguayan player's leg. That was not a pretty game for both sides, but ffs Suarez why do it to yourself.
The Italian did (deservedly) elbow suaraz in the face, which is a red card offence as well. So if the Ref had caught it they would probably both have been sent off
The way it segues into Donna Summer's I feel love is seamless I tell you. Also I was not mentally prepared for the spin me round scene. My brain hurts
Because you're not looking which of the two teams played best against each other, but played best overall in the group as that will make for a more interesting knock out round
"Its just going to be a constant string of World Cup appearances where they put up a respectable performance"
We haven't put in a respectable performance since 2002, so I don't think he's confusing England with America
The beauty of football. She is a cruel mistress where the best team often doesn't win
"If that's what's the best way to determine who should advance, why even do a round of 16? Make everyone play each other, then see who has the two highest goal differentials, then make your championship matchup. Sounds even crazier, but it's an extension of the same concept here."
You're just being willingly thick…
Huh, I don't know why but I assumed the Canadians would drive on the left like we in Britain do.
That was poorly phrased. I meant that if she gets a lengthy sentence on public policy grounds, she would probably appeal the sentence down on the fact that it was a stupid act but didn't contain any malice or intentional recklessness. It was meant to be a relating to the fact that this was a poor decision made in the…
Wait what? I have literally no idea what your comment means.
The motorcycle hit the car when it had been stationary for a period. So the 2/3 second recommend distance, which applies to moving vehicles, doesn't apply.
Hence why she's getting gross negligence manslaughter. But making stupid mistakes like these are surprisingly common, even with smart people. My mother who used to be a criminal defence lawyer often said that people who otherwise hold down intelligent lives, accountants and bankers etc, sometimes just do jaw…
She had fully stopped so the two/three space isn't really a factor in this case.
Do you guys drive on the right in Quebec? I thought Canadians drove on the left, so the left lane would be for slow traffic?
You'd be amazed how often otherwise smart people make incredibly poor choices. This screams out as an example of this phenomenon, if she gets hit with an extremely lengthy sentence, I wouldn't be surprised if she successfully appealed it down.
Legally, she doesn't have a leg to stand on. By almost any formulation it's gross negligence. Even if the motorcyclist was speeding as some reports have suggested that wouldn't affect her culpability.
Personally, I hope she gets a fairly lenient sentence. I find it hard to see how there is much point or public benefit…
In the first Sims, I used to make a maze out of wooden furniture that was next to lit fire places, and then watch sims try and successfully navigate the fire maze.
Something about the Sims makes me into a cruel and vengeful god.
Yeah, I went to two technically CoE schools. Outside of the occasional assembly and some hymns the religious aspect was almost non-existent. Certainly we were never actually pushed to believe in any of it. You could have removed the CoE bit without anyone noticing tbh, it was more just a quality assurance of them…
Well seeing as the Atheist/Agnostic portion of the population totals around the 30-40% mark of the country, and the muslim proportion sits around 4-5%, I'm guessing they'll have to lump it. It's not like they can't learn creationism in after-school Islamic studies at the mosque, they just can't learn it in a science…
