I think the cycle Kratos breaks by killing Baldur is supposed to be Gods killing their parents. Zeus killed Chronos, Kratos killed Zeus, and Atreus seems fixated on the subject in his dialogue (he’s against it, but he gets a little feisty in there). The game also frames Odin killing Ymir as something similar
