Amazing how this old wives' tale keeps coming back as "fact". How about we research a topic before posting it? That too much to ask, Lifehacker?
Another fact I learned. You can never kill all the ants in a colony. Some always survive. So when acting the part of Death of Ants (tip of the hat to writer Terry Pratchett of Discworld fame) I keep watch for the colony to re-establish itself a few feet away - but smaller. I'll nuke it again, wait for it to start…
