In Florida, traffic infractions and most misdemeanors need to be witnessed by the officer in order to make an arrest on the spot. The victims are referred to the State Attorney’s Office to file charges. Felonies are another matter entirely, and there are felony traffic infractions.

Here in FL, what I see the Ticket Clinic lawyers do is plead no contest in exchange for a withhold of adjudication (no points), and usually some court costs (typically around $50). The defendant still has to pay whatever court fees or fines, in addition to the $100 the lawyer…
