BTW, I meant a remake as well as a sequel.

Sorry, no can do. If someone remakes CCBB, I'll stop watching movies. That movie is pure gold as it was/is. Besides, a CCBB remake, even if otherwise perfect, wouldn't be CCBB without the original car and Dick van Dyke. Nope, no, no, no.

Very true.

"kinky waitress with an unusual fetish for particle physics (Autumn Reeser)"

"I felt that the science was buried under boring, nonsensical science."

Chupacabra or not, I've always been in love with Natasha Henstridge. There, I said it.

"I didn't realize you were the arbiter of what falls under "basic scientific knowledge"."

"I shouldn't HAVE to google it. They should explain the severity of that device."

@The5thElephant:

I was referring to the author, not the general viewer. But, let's face it, the knowledge that the atomic bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were in the tens of kilotons of yield should be as common as the knowledge that atoms are made of electrons, protons, and neutrons. It falls in the category of basic scientific

All very true, Annalee, but the title of the article does contain the expression "Scientifically Plausible" and not the word "Speculative."

"On the other hand. Where do those thermal vents get their heat from?"

"I had zero clue about the severity of this device until I checked in on o-deck."

Thanks! :)

"There periodic table is based on electrons, neutrons, and protons. Said combinations of such are technically elements."

"It was bothering me how out there this article was getting."

"Of course, it may be quite possible that alien life would be composed of strange new elements, unknown to modern science"

I think much of the same argument applies to "Them!", the 1950's black-and-white movie about giant ants. It did for the American population at large, who had just learned of the destructive power of the atomic bomb, the same thing that "Gojira" did for the Japanese: encapsulate fear of the atomic age into something

The styles do look similar. If I wasn't the detail-freak I am and hadn't looked at the author's name I'd also have thought the article was written by Annalee.

Annalee didn't write this article/rant. Jennifer Heddle did.
