Alas, even his explanation is not entirely correct, as he fails to explain two points:

You don't care about the pseudoscience and you don't take it seriously because you have some education in science, enough to discern crap from not-crap.

I happen to think that, despite any and all minor problems with any given episode of Fringe, this show is sooooo much freaking better than everything else on TV right now that I really don't care if there are weak moments here and there.

Reading the comments below, I see three kinds: a) this is awesome; b) this is not all that new or interesting; and c) thanks for all the fish replies.

Another thought... it occurred to me that we had a hint that Peter was going to be a father, 3 episodes ago. In "The Firefly", the Observer tells Peter "It must be difficult... to be a father."
