Sigh. I wish I had gone. Had the opportunity, but.... Just couldn’t (at the time) muster up the energy to go. Maybe next year.

I checked the audiobook for the first one out of the Multnomah County library branch near my old place in Portland, OR. One of my most precious possessions was a Sony Walkman. I spent a lot of time listening to the first book and coloring.
I bounce back and forth between reading only new things and re-reading my personal classics. Sometimes it’s a lot of fun to get invested in something new; sometimes it just requires too much energy and work and commitment to try to get into something I’m not familiar with. I wish I could afford an Audible account.
I killed Tape 3 of Watership Down, one of the few books on tape that I owned. It had a really great reader and I listened to it all the time. My dad managed to salvage it.
I’m curious what they would say about my spring break, which involved a lot of lying on the couch and reading Stephen King.
Tina Fey is a 5/6? Damn, I must be like a 3 then.
My partner’s family’s cat would bring live cicadas into the house in the summer. Not nearly so nice.
The real question is, why would anyone willingly submit themselves to the disgustiness that is a soft-boiled egg?
I tried, I really did. Leak central. Even after much strenuous positioning, tring to feel my cervix, making sure it was in the cup, etc., etc. Bloody, unpleasant times. Maybe if I had money to try a bunch of types, buuut I’m a poor grad student with no extra cash.
Tama!!!
I have my partner’s old purple one. He has one of the New ones and is pretty happy about it. He offered me his slightly less old blue one, but I’m too attached to mine to change unless it dies.
That egg sounds very tasty and so much better than the usual ones you find in a US grocery store.
Sudden craving for those chocolate coconut nests with the couple of jelly bean eggs in the middle... Completely forgot it was Easter.
Beautiful flowers! The partner and I went to a bird sanctuary, which will probably be a lot nicer later in the year. All we saw were robins, miscellaneous sparrows, red-winged blackbirds, one bluebird (!), and mallards. Heard a ton of spring peepers, but couldn’t see any. It was still pretty wintery, not much in the…
Oh hey, me too. Although just a regular research lab, not a crime lab. Works for RNA too (not surprisingly).
I understand, Rinna. I’m excited about Osomatsu-san as well. In fact, as a depressed grad student, it’s practically the only thing I’m excited about.
Came to mention this. That’s no “to”, it’s a “do”!
My mom chose to hyphenate (she had a relatively unusual name), while I just have my dad’s last name. I’ve sometimes wished that I had the hyphenated name as well, but at the same time it would make things pretty complicated. Her surname is hard to spell for most people, whereas my dad’s is super common and simple.
Probably true! I’m happy with just my phonestrap. And Nendroid. And 3DS game. ....
I figured out the stairs, but could not get out of the house for the longest time. I was convinced my game was bugged and unplayable. Then my dad figured it out and I went on to never beat that game. Elite 4 destroyed me every time.
