sometimes I think the Iron Curtain should go back up

maybe it will be hydrogen powered and only emit water… VAPOR

In the mid 70s my parents had a 504Ti, the ancestor of this baby. It rode like a dream but the Kugelfischer injection system didn't like the taste of the petrol supply in New Zealand where I grew up and it boke down a lot so Dad eventually traded it in on one of the original Honda Accord saloons

I vote Honda; yes there is a regrettable range of SUVs but looking back they've got a fine pedigree stretching from the early S1300 coupe through CRXs, NSXs, up to the current Type Rs

OMG I soooo need one of these, surely they must be able to provide a handy and stylish over the shoulder carrier?

I'd have both if I could but the Alfa is surely the devil's work with those outrageous curves

The coupe-disguised-as-convertible prototype had a really obvious fuel cap cover that extended from the car's fender up into the fake "vinyl" convertible c-pillar, it also had a coupe-sized rear window whereas this monster has the tiny drophead rear window so I'd say your thoughts about it being a 2009 convertible are

there are so many V8 Vantages on the streets of London these days, I guess this one would stand out at least. Actually I'd like a black one with yellow wheels

The saloon has a concave rear window which is very cool but the estate looks like it has some trim missing in profile behind the rear door at the windowline. The fixed hub steering wheel is a great sci-fi feature, I've driven a C4 with one and though it worked well, this one looks even better

Unbelievably we still get to buy it in the UK and Europe, even though it's based on the last generation Ford Mondeo and won't be replaced anytime soon. It was nothing more than a cynical bit of badge engineering which did nothing but damage to the Jaguar brand. They've even "revised" it here, not sure why they bothered

@CharlzR: actually her office isn't far from where I live and work and I saw her driving a Lamborghini Gallardo spyder the other day (strangely we also used to share the same hair-dressing) so maybe she does like cars

I've seen it for real (at the Design Museum) and it's just silly, it's HUGE but so pointless it's hard to know what you could actually do with it if it were drivable. She should stick to buildings…

is this a "run-out" special? Haven't we already seen disguised prototypes of the next Mazda 3 running around?

surely the most logical thing to do would be to turn it into a Pontiac G8 Wagon? I'd mock one up for y'll in photoshop but I'm a bit busy right now

I need a "none of the above" option

@Murilee Martin: The Morris Oxford (and Hindustan Ambassador) are much bigger than the Minor. The do look similar but don't have anything in common apart from the derivatives of the A-series engine

Do we know anything about which Audi's they're (ie the Chinese) are buying?

@AndyDuncan: opps, you're right the weight I found was 1715KG which is the gross vehicle weight of the 5 door Opel Astra, the curb weight of which is 1240KG

@badco: actually it weighs (gulp) 3780 of your US pounds, not sure what sort of milage your version will achieve

Well it's looks better than the 5-door (what wouldn't!)
