I don’t know why everyone harps on the Uncharted gunplay, it’s probably some of the best 3rd person gunplay out there.

My choice would be the Quest for Glory series, specifically the first game, So You Want to Be A Hero. It has an open world and varied path that encourages multiple play styles and attempts. Hell, the first one already got VGA remake in 1992 that was fucking amazing. Just need better ways of playing it other than on

I remember playing “Guerilla War” on the NES at my friend’s house when we were kids and wondering, hey, where are all the damn apes at?

I got no problem with a Dany heel turn.

You’re very right about it being a deconstruction, but none of that is why the last two seasons were so bad (not just received poorly—they were bad). I don’t know how often I and so many others can reiterate this: It’s not what happened that pissed me off, it’s that it wasn’t earned.

I think the problem is why did she marginalize all of them, and that feels up to bad writing.

Here’s the problem with this “it’s just all good fun” argument. You aren’t watching this in a public setting where you have to behave yourself, you are watching it in the privacy of your own home. I would say that almost anyone tuning in to a stream with a pretty girl in a bikini is doing it for the purpose we all

Personally I think Days Gone is very underappreciated. Middling reviews when it was released, not entirely sure what the player base was like but I’ve seen some fans defend it. I enjoyed the combat, I found the story compelling, and I loved the Oregon setting. Plus, while it deals with a very bleak world and backdrop,

But I need Silksong this year...

My one hope for all of this: I never have to hear about the fucking Snyder Cut again. I generally try not to yuck other people’s yum. I get that Snyder’s style is not appealing to me and that’s fine. Enjoy what you enjoy.

But damnit I am tired of hearing about this fucking thing.

I like both games too, but the second one’s open level just made it a blast to play. There were plenty of spooky moments and the order in which you encountered them was dependant on where you started exploring.

Same here: I started in the genre with Resident Evil 2 (rented from Blockbuster!) and fell in love, and it definitely seems weird to me that RE fans - or at least, fans of that RE4 era stuff - wouldn’t enjoy TEW: viewed as Mikami sort of evolving that RE4 formula on a parallel track from what Capcom was doing, I find

I go back and forth on those two games: I love the over-the-top art design, but the over-the-top narrative just leaves me cold. I love some of the structural and gameplay mechanics - especially the ‘sort of open world areas’ from the second one - but there are also chapters I find rote, repetitive, and kinda

+1 for the Valkyrie Queen, the perfect example of difficulty. She was at least twice as strong as all her Valkyries, but giving all their moves means the player isn’t at a loss for how to handle her (so long as they remember how to react from the previous eight fights).

I am right here with you on Hollow Knight and the Valkyrie Queen. And I would add to that the final boss of Sekiro (Immortal Severance ending). 4 stages, and when Isshin reveals himself and how the battle evolves over the course of the fight, adding the storm and forcing you to remember how to use and utilize to great

Roger, what about 1986? You appeared in your first adventure! Unfortunately, it had me stuck for over a month because I couldn’t figure what sector to fly to :(. Overheard the conversation with the answer BY ACCIDENT one day and was like, “How the F would anyone figure that out?” Also, I learned your theme song and

Nice takes and I agree, even if that year is not my best video game year ever.

If it makes you feel better, 2017 was the first year that jumped to mind for me.
