Flying camry? Old person. Calling it now. Definitely an old. Probably thought they were aiming for the front window of a convenience store.

He’s talking about the Y getting to 60 in 3.5 second while the GT might get to 60 in 4 seconds. Pay no mind to the fact that even the GT’s acceleration wasn’t attainable 10 years ago by anything other than the fastest cars on the road. Anything under 5 seconds and most people can’t tell the difference, or won’t ever…
Gas just sets on fire because it’s not in a pressurized tank. A pressurized hydrogen tank doesn’t even need to catch on fire to explode. The tank just needs to fail. Also I can smell gasoline leaks. If the gas tank in my car fails it just makes a mess on the ground or fills my car with flammable fumes, I can tell…
Yeah but most can with a quick installation. There are a lot of people that don’t live in cities with street parking only. A lot. More than enough that there won’t be a critical mass of hydrogen users outside of cities so fuel cell cars won’t be able to fuel outside of metropolitan areas, which is the whole problem…
OK, for the fraction of the population that this affects, it’s not an advantage. The other 4 or 5 things I mentioned are compelling on their own.
A lot of people don’t drive more than a couple hours at any one time ever. I drive 5 or 6 hours less than once a year and that would only require one charging stop with either car. Might as well call that lunch time.
Now you’re just splitting hairs. The first one made it out the door on time but they couldn’t mass produce them in meaningful numbers for some time after? Does that count as releasing on time?
It looks nothing like the model y except that it’s a CUV. It’s a rip off like the RAV4 is of the CRV.
I think this is more the reason. Ford is restricting production of the mach-e because of battery availability. Tesla had to build their own battery factory to make batteries.
Hydrogen isn’t going to happen in the U.S. Hydrogen tanks in a moving vehicle are even scarier than a lithium ion battery, hydrogen leaks out of EVERYTHING because the molecules are so small, it’s much easier to deliver electricity to the end user rather than hydrogen, and you still have to go somewhere to fuel up…
I hope they got the mini gun sound effect right. They have a distinct BRRRRRRRRRRRT sound but 75% of the time the sound guys put in a sound from a belt-fed machine gun. The real sounds so sweeeeeeetttt. Almost as good as an open-header big block at WOT.
They have base prices listed. Can’t really add options though. Ford only lets you pick drive train and battery.
Lol! Tesla running before schedule? Yeah. I’ll believe that when I see it. They can’t even meet deadlines much less beat them.
Stop thinking about it as a sports car and you won’t be so sad. While it carries the mustang name, it’s qualified by “mach-e.” It is what it is. It doesn’t really matter what it’s called anyway. The name doesn’t move your ass down the road and it certainly won’t do it as fast as this thing will.
Also worth noting is that Ford still has a whole boat load of federal subsidies available, which tesla already burned through making cars and still can only muster something $4k less expensive than this first try.
Ehhhhhh... Ford still has a lot of federal rebates available for purchasers so the GT is cheaper than the performance version of the model Y even before the $7,500 federal subsidy. Also it will be only a fraction of a second slower, if it’s slower at all since the figures haven’t been released yet. The mach e premium…
This. The people bitching on twitter aren’t the people that can afford these cars. Those people have good jobs and little free time to complain to internet about things that don’t matter.
OMG I loved that game. Easily my favorite. Played through many times.
You’ll regret that decision when you get anywhere near the city. I don’t go there often, but when I do, I take the train into and around it. We all have smart phones now. It’s super easy to figure out what train to take and where to get on it. Google maps gives it to you in painfully detailed steps.
You don’t have to leave it wide open, just don’t completely close the door. Surely you can spare an inch or two...
