That’s what rentals are for. I’d imagine truck rentals (UHaul or similar) would be even more common in Europe where personal ownership of trucks is less common.

I’ve never had a mirror fail except for impact damage and a camera or screen can fail just by sitting there, but sure. Why not? I just hope consumers aren’t stupid enough to buy a car that only has a camera for a side view mirror. Hahahaha! Of course they are. This is a terrible idea.
Driving isn’t just about the driver, but the public the vehicle is operated in. Your voluntary argument is invalid. Thank you.
I could write a whole response about how you’re wrong and, but I’m going to just say I didn’t agree to have half-baked driverless cars operating around me and my extensive car so “smart” summon in it’s current form is unethical to offer to the general public. That’s what “smart” summon is, an underdeveloped gimmick…
At least the failure mode of the “smart” summon feature is to stop so that’s a step forward from their regular AV endeavors. Still bullshit tesla treats automotive technology like some third party video game release.
Troll? I’m confused. Do you want your car to have the worst usability possible?
When are designers and buyers going to figure out that not having knobs and buttons for commonly used features is a safety hazard? I can change my climate control and audio without taking my eyes off the road because I can feel where everything is. I can’t feel the difference between buttons or sliders on a touch…
I know right? Even ‘cars and monster’ would be more accurate than cars and coffee. I thought cars and coffee was for corvette and land rover owners only.
Ah thanks. I have a habit of watching videos without sound because I’m either at work or I don’t want to annoy people with my phone.
How did they get it back on its wheels? I didn’t see a tow truck.
They get docked if they blind other drivers. You’ll never get an excellent score if they are a hazard to other drivers.
Good. People should leave their animals at home or ruin their own car with them. If they must dirty up someone else’s car with a dog, then they certainly should pay for it. I just hope the drivers get most of the fee (doubtful but hey why not?) since it’s their seats that are getting dirty and torn up.
Probably had something to do with they were big enough to carry a human and gear too. How much did their ability to stand in the back of a pickup truck factor into that decision?
Not much, but you ever try to stand on a bus or train while it’s moving without holding on? While possible, it requires a bit of anticipation of where the vehicle is going to turn or accelerate. I doubt any horse understands the behavior of the average driver enough to anticipate the movements of the truck.
Yeah, but at highway speeds and less than half full? Seems dangerous to have a top heavy animal flopping around in the back of your truck on a public road. Maybe around a farm, but not anywhere you need to stay in a lane.
Why are you fixing a leak on a car traded for an even crappier car? It’s not yours and you certainly don’t owe anyone you got that kia from.
Was it the car’s owner that cooked the brakes? I hope so because if it were a tech, I’d be pissed he sacrificed my brakes when his dyno is supposed to have emergency systems to stop the roller. Bunch of dummies in this one.
Do it. It’s a lot of fun and as long as you are in the right skill group, you can go whatever speed makes you comfortable. I’ve done a bunch of days and still hang out with the newbs because I like to focus on lines and body position rather than nailing it on the straights.
Yeah, it takes the world champion getting almost paralyzed or killed to get a short blurb about the pinnacle of motorcycle racing. Thank you for the article, but where were they for the rest of the year?
That’s completely different. Better analogy would have been any other racing that involves wheels, which Jalopnik also does not cover.
